Humanitarian work is not easy. It requires dedication, courage, passion and the willingness to travel far and wide—sometimes in extremely dangerous and difficult conditions—to help people in need. But, as difficult as it is, it also can be rewarding.
At International Medical Corps, our mission is to save lives and relieve human suffering. This is what makes us truly happy. We deeply care for the people we serve, and even though our days may be full of challenges, the fact that we are able to give hope to millions of people around the world through our lifesaving work makes every difficult moment worth it.
On this International Day of Happiness, here are just a few images of our dedicated staff and people whom we have helped. Their smiles keep us going in tough times—because happiness is contagious.
