The five International Medical Corps staff members and two International Medical Corps-contracted drivers that were detained by rebels in Yemen were safely released on Sunday, April 2, 2017. The staff members and drivers, all of whom are locally hired personnel supporting International Medical Corps humanitarian relief programs in the surrounding area, were at a hotel in Ibb when they were detained.
International Medical Corps has provided humanitarian relief to the people of Yemen since 2012. Despite the ongoing conflict that has caused a steady deterioration of humanitarian conditions across the country since 2015, our relief efforts continue to provide a lifeline for families in Sana’a, Taizz, Ibb, Aden, and Lahj.
